01Introduction

Welcome to StoryKrafters Digital ("we," "our," or "us"). StoryKrafters Digital is an iOS application that creates personalized children's stories and illustrations using information a parent or guardian provides about their child, including photos and personal details.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect through the app, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the StoryKrafters Digital iOS app and this page. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in a transparent and secure manner.

2.1 Information you provide

When you use the app, we may collect:

Parent / guardian information

• Name
• Email address
• Billing information associated with your purchases

Child-related information

• Name
• Age
• Interests and preferences
• Photos you upload

Account information

• Login credentials
• Subscription and purchase preferences
• Content you create or save in the app

2.2 Automatically collected information

When you use the app, we may collect certain technical data automatically, including:

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Device identifiers and (where you allow it) push notification tokens
• IP address and approximate location derived from it
• In-app activity, features used, and screens viewed
• Crash logs and diagnostic data used to fix problems

We do not request access to your photo library, camera, or other device data except where needed to provide a feature you choose to use (for example, selecting a photo to personalize a story).

03How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Create personalized stories and illustrations for your child
• Provide, maintain, and deliver content within the app
• Process purchases and manage your subscription
• Provide customer support
• Improve the app, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Communicate with you about your account, purchases, or important updates

04Children's photos & likeness

This is the part we care about most. The photos you upload — and the likeness of the children in them — belong to you and your family.

• We use uploaded photos solely to generate that child's personalized stories and illustrations within the app.
• We do not sell, rent, license, or otherwise share children's photos or likeness with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own purposes.
• We do not use uploaded photos to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models for general or third-party use.
• We do not use children's images in marketing or promotional materials without separate, explicit permission from the parent or guardian.
• You can delete uploaded photos and the content created from them at any time (see Section 11).

05Children's privacy

The app handles children's information, but it is intended for use by parents or legal guardians only. We:

• Only collect child data that is provided by a parent or guardian
• Use child information solely to create personalized content
• Do not allow children to create accounts or make purchases directly
• Do not knowingly direct the app's account creation or purchasing to children

If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent or guardian's involvement, contact us at legal@storykrafters.com and we will delete it.

06How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only with:

• Service providers that help us run the app (e.g., cloud hosting, content generation, and customer support tools), bound by contract to protect your data and use it only on our behalf
• Apple, in connection with App Store purchases and subscriptions you make
• Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety

All third parties are required to safeguard your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

07Purchases & the App Store

Purchases and subscriptions made in the app are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple's handling of your payment and account information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings under your Apple Account.

08Data storage and security

We implement appropriate safeguards, including:

• Encryption in transit and, where applicable, at rest
• Access controls and authentication
• Secure storage of uploaded photos and personal data

However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Data retention

We retain your data:

• As long as your account is active
• As needed to provide the content and features you use
• As required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes

You may request deletion at any time (see Sections 10 and 11).

10Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including Canada), you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent

11Deleting your account and data

You are always in control of your data. You can delete your account, your child's profile, uploaded photos, and the content created from them directly within the app.

If you would prefer, email legal@storykrafters.com and we will delete your account and associated personal data, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.

12Analytics & diagnostics

We use product analytics and crash-reporting tools, including PostHog, to understand how the app is used, identify where people get stuck, and fix problems. These tools may collect:

• Screens viewed and actions taken in the app
• Device, app version, and approximate location (derived from IP address)
• Anonymous interaction events and crash diagnostics
• Your email address, but only after you've voluntarily provided it, so we can connect your activity across sessions

We do not use these tools to capture the contents of sensitive fields such as passwords or payment details, and we do not use uploaded children's photos for analytics. 13International data transfers

Your information may be stored or processed outside your country (including Canada and the United States). Where we transfer data across borders, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

14Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services (such as Apple, cloud hosting, and analytics providers). These services have their own privacy policies governing their handling of data.

15Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If changes are significant, we may also notify you within the app.
